Self portraits. Gah! I don't like talking about myself and I don't enjoy doing self portraits either. (I also don't like green eyes and ham!) This is my first in about 9 years, I think. The last one was for an anthology (to accompany a story I was having published). This one I think I like better. Anyway, here it is.
"That Which Wears My Face" ... colored pencil on 9"x12" cradled wood panel by Robert Elrod.

So Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so very much, bud!
DeleteI love how the beams or goo or whatever are solid black. Didn't take you for a woody but this is rad. Good work sir!
ReplyDeleteThe stuff coming out of my eyes and mouth are open for interpretation (evil, darkness, shit, etc.). I figured solid black was the way to go because I can look at most things and find something dark about them. That's part of what I was saying here. Partly saying also that I have a darkness within that I'm spreading. Har.
DeleteA "woody"? You know I've done several pieces on wood panels, right? I've got a bunch of them here in my studio that are primed and ready to be painted. You'll be seeing more of them, bud.
I saw it as a long, straight thing entering your mouth, then spraying out your eyes. Am I the only one who saw it that way? LOL!
DeleteI was thinking of you when I did this, Josh. Then I realized that I needed to make it bigger to not embarrass anyone. I wasn't going to reveal our secret love but you forced me.
DeleteWhoa! Terrific!
ReplyDeleteThanks, my man! Awesome job on yours too!!!
DeleteThat's some serious Masters of the Universe rage! LOL
ReplyDeleteLove this one man :D
Better believe it, Mr. Awesome! :-)
DeleteThanks, bud!
