    South Park did an episode where the kids get hooked playing Chinpokomon (which turns out to be a way for the japanese to brainwash american kids into becoming kamikaze pilots). One of the chinpokomon characters is Shoe.

    I believe the chinpokomon episode was nominated for an Emmy award but I would have to verify that.
