Boogie Fever...Hypno-Hustler

You know Wikipedia is a helluva thing...I just looked up "List of Spider-Man Villains" and it gave me just that.  I found the Hypno-Hustler and was sold instantly.  Went with a bit of Jim "Dragon" Kelly as some reference/inspiration.  Simple cel-shade coloring in Photoshop. HUSTLAH. Word.

Trying Procreate on iPad

So I heard som pretty good things about the app Procreate so I thought I would take it for a spin.  This is a quick doodle to test out the features.  It is a pretty awesome app and for sketching top notch.  I have to spend more time and the tools and on a piece to see if I can get something decent out of it.  Anywho...ELEKTRO!

Well here is my entry for the Spider Man pick. Doc Ock. So yeah I don’t know a whole hell of a lot about Spider Man, I just a basic knowledge about the main characters and villains. I do remember a long time ago in grade school I had a friend who drew a lot and he had this how to draw marvel book that was 11” x 17”, as it had actual comic boards at the end of the book that one could practice on. In fact I think it was set up so that you were supposed to finish a Spider man comic that they showed in it’s various stages of creation. The first five pages were fully done with ink, color, word bubbles. Then the next pages were just the pencils with the word bubbles, and finally you got to the blank pages where you were supposed to finish the story with your own art and such. I didn’t draw in the book as it wasn’t mine but I did read the Spider Man comic. It was about Spider Man and Mary Jane or some shit , and then he has to go fight Doc Ock, who was robbing a bank. I thought to myself “The dude has robot arms and looks like a crazy super villain, so why the fuck is he wasting his time robbing banks?” I don’t know I guess I just wanted him to do more sinister shit.

So here is my version of Doc Ock. I didn’t use a reference as I was too lazy to look up a pic on google. Figured I’d just shoot from the hip and do a drawing using the memory I had of him. I remember him having this stupid bowl hair cut so I don’t know if that is accurate still or not. Maybe they have hooked him up with a better hairdo in the contemporary Spider Man. Then I still had him robbing banks because I guess that is what he do :P And the martini was just for flavor.

Here's a little Spidey Vs Rhino action. I will forever remember Spidey from back in the Mark Bagley days. You know, back when he was a hero, and they didn't kill him off and then molest the very idea of our web slinging hero. Yeah, back when kids or adults could read the same comic and enjoy it. Anyhoo...enjoy.

I've been seeing a lot of spiders at work lately. I think I have my own spidey sense. I just turn and look exactly at a spider that no one else saw. It's not a very cool superpower, but it spares me from a lot of terrifying situations.

I drew this one for the topic. Copics, as usual. 

 And I drew this a while back. It makes me laugh. Also Copics.

iPad Spidey Villains

My lovely girlfriend Desirae got me a Jot Pro stylus for Christmas and I have been wanting to put it to the test.  It is really fluid and works really well for sketching.  Inking is another thing all together but that could be the app I am using.  I wish there was a way to try out some of these apps. I think I need to do some more experimenting.  Anywho, sketching with it on the iPad is a blast and I am glad I have another tool in the arsenal.  Awesome present.

Ok, normally? On something like this? I would cheesecake the hell out of Mary Jane, or Black Cat (if Scott hadn't beaten me to it) or Gwen Stacy. Instead I give you subtly gratuitous Spider-crotch. You're welcome.
